I believe I have been seriously lacking in the sharing department.

Been crazy busy with the stuff of writing/rewriting/self-editing and stashing $$ away for a pro-editor. So, um… sorry!

I have moved into Deuteronomy and at chapter 18 (I won’t go into chapters 1-17 for semi-brevity’s sake).

Whee, I had full 2 cups of coffee so… ok there is that. Ch 18 *remember me, zip theologian but I pray for God’s wisdom. I hope to be wise in His wisdom, not mine…

This is yet another chapter chockfull of prophecy. Those who knew the old testament would totally get this. There is no doubt. VS 1-6, the Levites mediate for the Israelites between man and God and otherwise had no inheritance of land. They were to rely on the gifts of Israel. OK let’s do a fast-forward thousands of years later.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> !

Jesus said he had no place to lay his head. He relied on Israel to provide for his ministry of mediation. He is the one and the only priest that is our mediator, we need no more sacrifice, no other mediator (ie Mary, she is dead and buried and doesn’t/can’t answer you to mediate, speak to Jesus for us… this is not even in Scripture).

mary not our mediator

The priests (Levites) were free to move, to minister where they pleased (as did Jesus). The offerings were made by fire and oil (Holy Spirit) wine (blood), and the firstfruits, the best, the pure (Jesus). The priests’ inheritance was the LORD.

levitical-aaronic-jewish-high-priest

We have become priests (we don’t need another mediator ie catholic priests…ie the Pope etc). ‘No one comes to the Father but THROUGH me.’ VS 18 Jesus speaks of fulfilling the spirit of the law, not lip service. Remember: we are free from the OT and Jesus was reminding the Pharisees and religious leaders that their arrogance led them into this. He fulfilled the words of this prophecy and spoke in the name of the Lord.

Jesus

This, the Israelites, the religious leaders, understood. This is why they wanted him to shut up, go away, and finally get rid of him. The Romans? Oh, so totally involved in the worst of ways. So all of mankind stands guilty of His death on the cross. Can I get an amen?? I pray today for His wisdom and that the words from me do not obsess about politics etc. etc. because my own self can stand in the way of HIS will.

Numbers 29! Exciting

Featured

I read Numbers chap 29, yet another fantastic chapter on prophecy. Here through the covenant with Israel (before Jeremiah 31:31-33: ‘Behold, the days are coming, declares the LORD, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah. 32 It will not be like the covenant I made with their fathers when I took them by the hand to lead them out of Egypt— a covenant they broke, though I was a husband to them,” declares the LORD. 33 “But this is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the LORD. I will put My law in their minds and inscribe it on their hearts. And I will be their God, and they will be My people…’–not works!)

God gave the Israelites out of Egypt some feasts all of us should know. FIRST: the Festival of Trumpets. Always (always) falls on a Friday, aka ‘Preparation Day’ before Shabat (Sabbath), which is prophetic. Jesus was crucified on Preparation Day when His blood was spilled and He died.

SECOND, the next, is the Day of Atonement, ALwAYS on the Shabat, the days out of Egypt (before the Jordan), always the day of reflection, confession and redemption. For all of us we recognize that the Day of Atonement is the covering/wiping clean our slate from sin by the blood of the perfect Lamb. THIRD is the Festival of Tabernacles, setting up booths to remember God’s provision in the wilderness and the future promise of the Messiah (note: there is never a mention of many messiahs…). This is also prophetic that on the 8th day (Sunday, April 3rd, 33 A.D. Jesus was resurrected from the dead). Captured the middle of the night, Thursday, and whipped:

(Isaiah 53:3 – he was despised by mankind, a man of suffering, and familiar with pain), crucified (Isaiah 53: 4-5 ‘Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, (THE CROSS) yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted. 5 But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; For he was cut off from the land of the living; for the transgression of my people he was punished. He was oppressed and afflicted, yet he did not open his mouth; he was led like a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before its shearers is silent, so he did not open his mouth. 8 By oppression and judgment he was taken away. Yet who of his generation protested? For he was cut off from the land of the living; (HIS DEATH) for the transgression of my people he was punished. 9 He was assigned a grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death, (On Friday, so the Sabbath could be kept pure, (and Mark 15:46, Matthew 27:57-60 fulfills this prophecy== “And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because … came a rich man of Arimathaea, named Joseph, who also himself was Jesus’ disciple: He went to Pilate, and begged the Body of Jesus. Then Pilate commanded the body to be delivered. And when Joseph had taken the body, he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth, And laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn out in the rock: and he rolled a great stone to the door of the sepulchre, and departed.”) Isaiah v 9 continued… though he had done no violence, nor was any deceit in his mouth. 10 Yet it was the Lord’s will to crush him and cause him to suffer, and though the Lord makes his life an offering for sin, he will see his offspring and prolong his days, and the will of the Lord will prosper in his hand.’

NEXT on Sunday, the Feast of the Tabernacles, the remembrance of delivery from slavery to looking ahead to the Messiah, v 11-12 ‘After he has suffered, he will see the light of life and be satisfied; by his knowledge my righteous servant will justify many, and he will bear their iniquities. 12 Therefore I will give him a portion among the great, and he will divide the spoils with the strong, because he poured out his life unto death, and was numbered with the transgressors. For he bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.’ (AFTER He suffered, died and was buried… God says ‘He will see the light of life…. he will bear their iniquities…because he poured his life unto death… and made intercession for the transgressors [ie us]). (HIS RESURRECTION).

I could continue but it’s a long post highlighting the 3 most important Hebrew festivals after Passover, and the fulfillment of these prophecies in the one Messiah, Yeshua HaMashiach.
Please reply if you have any corrections to my interpretation of this passage or anything I have missed.

Some Other Day When I’m Old

Procrastination.

We all face the problem, not wanting to do the necessary nor the right action to do, or words needed to be said. Take the few minutes to read. It could save your life.

Families pulled apart, isn’t it time you ‘get over it’ and love? When is your last breath? When you’re 70? How do you know, it could be in one second. Your age won’t save you.

Friends long lost? Connect, reconnect if you can find them. Say a few kind words or get together if you can.

Dreams fade. Goals fall by the wayside of life. You’re too busy to help aging parents.

Churchgoers – You’re too busy to deal with all of the above with the superficial works that you think will improve your status with God, so you have no time to read, pray, share. That is if you believe in God, and those works.

Faith. You’re 20 years old (or 89) and you figure, I’ve got time to think about God, faith, salvation. Or… ‘nice for you, but I believe in…’ (whatever).

When is your last breath? Last heartbeat? Last thought? Last tear? Will you have time to have that last thought or tear?

There are a lot of reasons why you should stop and think about these. Now.

So, today I give you words to consider (there is so much more, but realize this has been foreshadowed throughout the Old Testament, that these verses are the culmination, the completion of all). Know in the following verses that sin and transgressions are wrongdoings. Things you know you shouldn’t have done.

(Old Testament) Isaiah 53: 4-12

Surely he took up our pain
    and bore our suffering,
yet we considered him punished by God,
    stricken by him, and afflicted.
But he was pierced for our transgressions,
    he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was on him,
    and by his wounds we are healed.
We all, like sheep, have gone astray,
    each of us has turned to our own way;
and the Lord has laid on him
    the iniquity of us all.

He was oppressed and afflicted,
    yet he did not open his mouth;
he was led like a lamb to the slaughter,
    and as a sheep before its shearers is silent,
    so he did not open his mouth.
By oppression[a] and judgment he was taken away.
    Yet who of his generation protested?
For he was cut off from the land of the living;
    for the transgression of my people he was punished.[b]
He was assigned a grave with the wicked,
    and with the rich in his death,
though he had done no violence,
    nor was any deceit in his mouth.

10 Yet it was the Lord’s will to crush him and cause him to suffer,
    and though the Lord makes[c] his life an offering for sin,
he will see his offspring and prolong his days,
    and the will of the Lord will prosper in his hand.
11 After he has suffered,
    he will see the light of life[d] and be satisfied[e];
by his knowledge[f] my righteous servant will justify many,
    and he will bear their iniquities.
12 Therefore I will give him a portion among the great,[g]
    and he will divide the spoils with the strong,[h]
because he poured out his life unto death,
    and was numbered with the transgressors.
For he bore the sin of many,
    and made intercession for the transgressors.

(New Testament)

John 3:3 ‘I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again.’

John 4: 10-14

10 Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.”

11 “Sir,” the woman said, “you have nothing to draw with and the well is deep. Where can you get this living water? 12 Are you greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well and drank from it himself, as did also his sons and his livestock?”

13 Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, 14 but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”

John 14: 6 – Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

Ephesians 2:8-10 – For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. 10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Romans 10:9-10

If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.

Don’t wait, time is short (yours and mine). For those who believe there are many ways, or there is nothing… if you’re right, we all meet the same end. But, what if I am right? What if you recognize that the Bible is right? Will it hurt you to recognize your wrongs? Turn away from them? Will it hurt you to see you can’t do it on your own? Will it hurt me if you slander me or God? Not one bit. But, again, what if I am right?

Today, I pray for everyone who reads that the only true God will open your eyes and hearts.

I cannot believe how low we have fallen. Aborting babies at birth. If all life is sacred… what the hell?

I am sad, angry,  and frustrated. I thought I had seen the worst in people, but clearly that was a fallacy.

The same day Virginia pitched this, the same woman (Tran) put the cankerworm on the endangered species list.

Over this.

OH GOD.

I would never condemn anyone who has gone through this. Or the men who couldn’t keep it in their pants. I can’t even condemn those who have pushed this. It’s spiritual warfare, and this is so very, very wrong.

Tears.
