Ah… back to reality

So…

Because my posts float here to there to back again wherever, I am going to get a thousand other blogs. Yarp.

So I will post here my new blog sites, etc., so it will only be mildly confusing. Sound good? Am I insane? Shush.

I am going to (before I take off and do ‘other’ stuff i.e. make other WP sites) post what I read in the Tanakh today, specifically chapter 10. The Israelites again (and recall, if you will, that the church does the all the time. Not just one denomination, but all. And also, we individually do this. So don’t make the assumption that I am picking on Israel) messed up and immediately started worshipping other idols.

Particularly Baal — that is Dagan (Zebul) which was once renamed in derision by Israel as ‘lord of the flies.’

But back to falling into this idol worship. An idol is that which is anything or anyone that is worshipped above God. Hey, that’s just a reminder.

God had saved them over again, constantly each time they did this, from running from Egypt and on, because of His compassion and His promises. I suspect (though He already knew what was happening and that it would happen again) He heaved a sigh and said, ‘Have it Your Way,’ like the Ole Blue Eyes song, I Did it My Way.

Israel (past, present and future) were taken captive and sold to the Philistines (not Palestinians… Philistines–ya, forget it, I’ll explain another day) and Ammonites, and thoroughly crushed and oppressed, physically and spiritually. I see this spiritually in my ‘now’ as Satan trying to steal my joy, my devotion and my Promised Land. To destroy my faith.

I actually have been there. Done that. Got the tee shirt. Went to the conference called…’Been There.’ Sadly, just like Israel, more than once. Tsk.

The enemies even crossed the Jordan taking the Israelites captive from the Promised Land, that which they’d live for already more than a century.

If you know anything about human trafficking, being sold into enemy hands never turns out well.

The Israelites knew how God so often saved them (suddenly He was convenient again and they wanted Him to wave a magic wand–how many times are we just great with our own idolatry of stuff, but when something BIG happens, we remember to say God help me?), but superficially, not spiritually. Just as in the times during Rome, the leaders didn’t give a whit to changing their hearts, what they wanted was to keep their arrogance (their idolatry = themselves).

But God says, ‘let your gods save you.’ Reminiscent of Romans 1:28-32 –the future of not just folks hanging out on earth for whatever reason but for the church who follows suit. (https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Romans+1%3A28-32&version=NIV )

Finally… another sigh from God, he hears them cry out again, and saves them from themselves out of compassion. By His arm. Again, another reminder of the NT, Ephesians: https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=ephesians+2&version=NIV

I implore you, look into yourselves. What is YOUR idol? I have many days by the way when I need to stop and remember who is God… me? No. My stuff? Not so much. And on and on.

So… that being shorter than many of my posts on the Tanakh, I now go to set up more sites…

A lot of people do not understand Christianity. I didn’t for a very long time. I thought it was just another religion just like every other one.

not like every other ideology

It’s not. It is the only religion that does not demand of you to be perfect, to spend all of your life and soul and even in some religions your blood or the blood of animals to erase your sin. It is the only religion where Yahweh is mentioned throughout the Old Testament (i.e. the Tanakh) and the New Testament. Reading the Tanakh is paramount to understanding Jesus’ words, which often seemed harsh and unbelievable.

It is the only religion that tells us that Yahweh loves us without condition, ‘and does not want anyone to perish but to come to the saving knowledge of Christ’ by saying simple words: ‘confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that he was raised from the dead and you will be saved.’

It is the only religion that says we are saved by faith and that given to us by God, not our own boasting. Prophetic from the word ‘go’ for the ultimate fulfillment in Yeshua (in Hebrew means ‘Yahweh saves.’ And Yahweh means, ‘I am who I am.’ Prophecy from Genesis 1:1, on. Jesus did not write the New Testament). Jesus didn’t start Christianity. He wasn’t the “first Christian.” He was born as a Jew in Bethlehem that has always been in Israel, not by any other ‘name.’

He was not a gentile that lived in an occupied land by Israel. He did live in Israel occupied by Rome (who hated Jews so much they renamed the entire country and burned Jerusalem and the Temple of Solomon to the ground in 70 AD).

What Jesus might have looked like

His ministry was first to the Jews, though he never turned down a gentile who showed faith. The Jews condemned him spiritually, and the Romans condemned him to the most brutal of deaths, that is on the cross. His hands and feet brutally nailed so he could not stand, causing severe pain, dislocation of the shoulders, and heart failure. Yet, he willingly died for us. Every human on earth.

Yet many have refused only to condemn themselves. Many have not heard. All will hear and still have that choice.

If you’ve not read the Koran, I highly recommend it. It is all about not displeasing allah, but making sure one sacrifices as much as possible to follow that law, where martyrdom is the best option for those 72 virgins, killing infidels, and women are subjugated, considered a mistake and evil, 1/2 worthy of a man, and the reason why men rape… (Sahih Bukhari (6:301) – “[Muhammad] said, ‘Is not the evidence of two women equal to the witness of one man?’ They replied in the affirmative. He said, ‘This is the deficiency in her intelligence.’” Sahih Bukhari (6:301) – continued – “[Muhammad said] ‘Isn’t it true that a woman can neither pray nor fast during her menses?’ The women replied in the affirmative. He said, ‘This is the deficiency in her religion.’” Allah has made women deficient in the practice of their religion as well, by giving them menstrual cycles. Sahih Bukhari (2:28) & Sahih Bukhari (54:464) – Women comprise the majority of Hell’s occupants. Image thanks to Charlie Garrett of the Superior Word.

ISIS Sex Slaves for the Market

This is important because the only women in heaven mentioned explicitly by Muhammad are the virgins who serve the sexual desires of men. (A weak Hadith, Kanz al-`ummal, 22:10, even suggests that 99% of women go to Hell). A reminder: if you wear a hijab, you are submitting to that sexism, the concept that you are worthless and a mistake, and you’ll go to Hell because you aren’t a virgin, submitting yourself to an ideology of hate, to a man’s whim, and ultimately, you’ll be wearing a burka, too.

does this make me look…. Fat?

Much to be said about other religions including humanism (from Dictionary Online: “The definition of humanism is a belief that human needs and values are more important than religious beliefs, or the needs and desires of humans (does that mean like, a serial killer is okay?). An example of humanism is the belief that the person creates their own set of ethics (Is cannibalism ethical? Asking for a friend…). An example of humanism is planting vegetables in garden beds (like, with a composted corpse?)” Nihilism, here: (from Online Dictionary: *PHILOSOPHY: extreme skepticism maintaining that nothing in the world has a real existence (i.e. your atoms may simply be floating around doing what they want?). *HISTORICAL: the doctrine of an extreme Russian revolutionary party c. 1900 which found nothing to approve of in the established social order, which all depend on great deeds we do as humans that don’t count in the end (like, unless you can provide forced labor?). This is likely why Stalin had such success murdering upwards of 20 million people without compunction.

Oh yeah, good works are great, but faith in Yeshua must come first. Demands for money and works are simply not there. You count. If Jesus didn’t believe you were worth squat, He wouldn’t have taken on everyone’s sin, whipped, nailed brutally to the cross, bleeding, dying for us. Are you worthy of heaven? It’s a different word, and no we are not.

We serve the only God, Yahweh (not ‘a great god’ as some modern songs say). And the Trinity, many do not understand in a child’s eyes, the Trinity, even though they are Bible-believing Christians.

So, as you walk the talk and have faith, make sure you understand the Bible, ask for His help to understand His Word, to teach your children, to explain the faith, and for your kids to pass this habit of reading and prayer along with the defense of their belief.

No. Way.

This is a longer post, soooo apologies. But, necessary.

I did indeed read Joshua ch 10. But right at this moment, I am definitely doing to address something I heard this morning. A person I enjoy listening to speaking with someone about the paranormal demons in her home. OKEY DOKEY.

wide eye

Later this person contradicted themselves, but later on that. The writer of a book that shall be unnamed claims that demons come into her home and move things about at night. The usual speaker agreed, golly, and suggested the other person who ‘experienced’ these things hang a cross at the door and have the house spiritually cleansed. Then the interviewee went on to speak of Jesus’ what he said in the Gospels that this was 1000% true. NO, IT IS NOT. Jesus was filled with the Holy Spirit. Demons fled. The disciples had trouble. Not THIS:

ghost

Well, let’s see. Jesus was at the time, the ONLY one filled with the Holy Spirit, but in Acts, recall that a lot of folks received the Holy Spirit right… there… and amazed people, later consistently freaking the demons out… but not by their name, but because of the presence of the Holy Spirit, they fled they pled… why? They cannot stand in the presence of God.

Christ the Reedemer

So in a person’s home, where the Holy Spirit dwells within you, the Holy Spirit filling the very space around you… the demons cannot stand it. Do we keep our guard up? Call on the name of Jesus? As in Ephesians chapter 6 of course. The very weapons against evil as noted in verses 10-17: ‘Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God’ (New International Version). All of which, by the way, are God’s gifts to us.

wonder woman.jpg

Why does this happen to her? Not ‘ghosts’, not demons and honestly I don’t have that answer but what I do know is that demons cannot stand being near people who are filled with God’s presence.

wonder

OK so much for that rant… except this person wrote a book pretty well devoted to the paranormal and that, to me, is taking the eye off God and placing a weird thought process and planting it into the minds of others, simply allowing readers to do the same or worse, think they are possessed… And right after that half-hour of nonsense, the interviewer/normal speaker condemned this practice (while early agreed)… So will I stop listening? Probably not, but we must be in the Word, prayer and be discerning.

By the way, worshipping and focusing on angels, not only evil… is idolatry.

If not, you’ll find yourself swimming in the occult. Will I confront her? I haven’t decided nor prayed about it yet. IMHO I believe the first speaker is terribly off the mark.

All of that being said, when our kids moved into the house (we have a studio on the property), we did and do pray over the home and hang a cross at the door because they and their friends are not (yet with prayer and the will of God) Christians. Folks cannot cross the threshold without seeing the cross or knowing that we have spoken the word over the home. So… none of this stuff of weirdness happens in our home.

cross.jpg

Now TRIALS are a different matter. Trials (pain, loss, horrible diseases) are not FROM God, but these come from a fallen world and these trials are USED by God to what…? In Romans, James, Peter, Paul speak of these to be thankful that the trials strengthen our character. So put your eyes on Jesus, not the paranormal, not weird teaching, not the church only to teach you (hey he could be a Harikrishna)in disguise.

Don’t stray away from His Word into the occult, you will be driving God out and you’ll be inviting evil in. Exactly what Satan wants–for people to believe they can do both.juggle-doc-hobby-1200x801

Back in Time a Bit

#Tanahk #Genesis – Not posting on Deuteronomy today. Noooope. I heard this today. and felt it appropriate. Today is about THE FALL. Ours. FIRST I want to preface this with the end of chapter 2. In vs 16 God gives ADAM a command. Here you could insert, ‘I gave you just ONE job…’ God said, ‘you are free to eat from any tree, but you must not eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it you will surely die.’

Takeaway in this passage: Adam was given the responsibility of one… thing. Kinda like giving a kid one warning, you cannot do thus and such… what’s he do? That one thing you have forbidden. So, to reiterate, it was Adam’s responsibility. With me so far?

Of course, you are! God then formed woman (Eve) from Adam’s side (equal, co-inheritants. Remember, Adam? He may have been dazzled by her beauty but, he was responsible to share this info.

JUMPING to chapter 3: the serpent (a creation, not unintelligent maybe even on all fours like the other animals) who allowed WHO? Satan to do the dirty deed. So, therefore, he was crafty. Next, he approaches Eve and speaks to her. Alrighty, this is not a subordination issue, ok, got that?

Remember his one job? Standing right next to Eve (like he ever left her side…) he doesn’t speak up (the Adam syndrome). MILKTOAST! He should have said, hey don’t forget, God said… But did he? No, he stepped back and let her take control. She then took control (the Eve syndrome) answered the serpent… incorrectly.

First, she said you must not touch (God didn’t say that). Just one word misinterpreted or added to God’s word opened the door to the fall. Satan takes full advantage and says, God is wrong. She believed who? Satan! Once she tasted the fruit she liked it and gave it to Adam.

Snake and Forbidden Fruit

Once they both had eaten (not Eve alone) they recognized good and evil. Covering here the genitals is representative of their newfound vulnerability of heart and mind. So they worked it out to hide this themselves by putting together fig leaves to fool who? God. Totally inadequate a works-oriented method to remove their guilt. God then walks in the garden and calls ’em out. Basically saying Why are you hiding? He wanted them to confess.

Did they? NOOOO.

GOD approaches Adam, says paraphrased… you had ONE JOB. Ok so Adam does the first blame game. The woman YOU gave me… he’s blaming God for making a mistake and that mistake cost him & tempted him (I might note that there are religions out there that say the same exact thing: some god made a mistake, so we have to cover the woman, cut off private parts another mistake on God’s part, of course, lest men be tempted…)! puhleez:

burka

But note, he talks to Adam first who did not relay the message and didn’t correct her and GOD’s words. So GOD says to Eve, what have you done (wanting a confession). She says the devil made me do it.

Note: God’s next approach is this and prophetic to Satan: ‘Cursed are you … you will crawl on your belly, I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers (in Hebrew, the word is ‘seed,’ ie sperm not Adam’s), and he (not her!) will crush your head and you will strike his heel.’

Prophetic of the ultimate doom of Satan and the death of the Messiah (yet, He was raised from the dead). Two curses down. He does NOT curse Eve. He says I will greatly increase your pains in childbearing; with pain, you will give birth to your children. Wazzat mean? Women can totally relate. Pain, yelling, screaming, then the joy of the child being born. Prophetic (she doesn’t get it, but that’s another issue).

God also said women were now subordinate because she took control and listened to Satan rather than to God, adding to His word. This was not to be abuse. Ever. This was not the carving of words into their skin or FGM.

Then God cursed the very ground that was to be fruitful and enjoyed. Adam gets painful toil, day and night, producing nothing more than weeds and work this hard until they die. Back to the dust.

Last, He makes skins for them and clothed them. NOTE: This is 1. the first sacrifice ever done by the hand of God not man, meaning the blood was spilled for them, by Him. 2. He then clothes them, a picture of future covering by the Messiah. *You can find all of this reiterated in Isaiah 53 otherwise known as the forbidden book to read. It’s too obvious! Adam and Eve were tossed from the garden forcefully. The garden is sealed until the END.

*BTW I have heard horrific explanation that Adam knew what she was going to do and let her sin so he could die for her… nope. * Tada, chap 3.

Adam syndrome: Dudes from then on let women take control and these dudes from Adam on are total milktoast. You can see it in the church, your home, your community etc.

Eve syndrome: Controlling (hey, I’ve done this, so there is that). We try to control everyone in our life, our circumstances, you name it, we’ll control it, emasculating men in every aspect of life, stripping them of being what God created, while he strips her of her humanity. It’s all about self for both.

This is what is known as original sin, that which follows us until our eyes are opened and all sin, forgiven.

Grace overcomes the curse by the cross.

Been away. Whoops.

Good day! Morning as is here or afternoon or anywhere you’re at!

I haven’t posted a lot. Been reading, been editing, but that’s neither here nor there. I am up to chapter 21 in Deuteronomy. Forge on!

First, thanks to everyone following not just here but reading through my exegesis of the OT–without me checking in with pastors (totally my bad). I do like going through it with fresh eyes, and pray that my understanding is correct. And… I welcome correction. That said, Deuteronomy 21 is cool. I read it yesterday and today re-read and it was so clear in prophetic of the fulfillment of the Messiah. Long? Probably. HERE: v 15-17 – the 2 wives represent the Jews and the Gentiles. If the husband loves one and not the other, yet has 2 sons, one from the loved, and one from the other and doesn’t care for the 1st born of the unloved wife (I see this as the Jews, the chosen people– I could be wrong), the father is to give the firstborn the double portion– and the Jewish firstborn is the SIGN of the father. Let that sink in… both ways. The Jewish nation is the chosen… Jesus is the first-born and in His words He said He was sent first to the house of Israel -the chosen. Next v 22-23 The rebellious who hate God were put to death for hating God (stirring up violence, idolatry). Oh, how harsh! How? Hung (Hebrew: impaled) on a tree. Cursed outside the city. The ones who hate God (both Jew and Gentile). So how was this so prophetic? Let me count the ways. Jesus was cursed by the firstborn for calling Himself God, putting Him into the hatred and rebellion and idolatry). Why crucify Him? He was accused (false testimony) of inciting violence thus incurring the wrath and death by the Romans (Gentiles, and very cruel). He was prophetically hung on a tree, impaled, and cursed (FOR EVERYONE, Jew and Gentile). Last.. the body was never to be left on this tree overnight. Does anyone see what I see?

I want to talk about the Beatitudes, too, the words of Jesus in Matthew 5.

The Beatitudes are so convoluted by both believers and non-believers. Is Jesus even talking about the physical? Nope. His words within the beatitudes speak the very words of salvation. 1. blessed (HAPPY) are the poor in spirit for theirs is the kingdom of God. Whoa. Not the poor, but the one who recognizes they have fallen (sinned). 2. Blessed are those who mourn (weep over their sin in recognition and confession of sin) for they will be comforted (that word, comforted is the same in Greek as is the Holy Spirit!). 3. Blessed are the meek (humble enough to turn – repent from sin) for they will inherit the earth (all of God’s treasure). 4. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness (seeking salvation through Jesus’ righteousness, not ours) for they will be filled (with the very heart of God) 5. Blessed are the merciful (our forgiveness toward others) for they will be shown mercy (from others). 6. Blessed are the pure in heart (follow by the Holy Spirit, not by good works) for they will see God (face to face!) 7. Blessed are the peacemakers (bringing God’s word, His peace to others) for they will be called sons of God (they are willing to share all of God’s bounty with Jews and Gentiles). 8. AND THE ONES NO ONE WANTS TO TALK ABOUT– blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness (ie prison, torture, death) for theirs is the kingdom of heaven (reiteration of #1! 9. Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice (???WHATTTTT.. Like WHAAATTT??) and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven for the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you. Reiteration of #7–sharing the good news is not met with all love light and sweetness Sometimes but look at today. What group is the most persecuted in the world? Christians! We are now called ISIS! yikes. Persecution is coming and rather than taking offense, we need to remember these words ie rejoice and be glad. He goes on to say that we are the salt of the earth and the light of the world. Why did He add this here? Because salt and light change the environment. By walking in the world ie BEING of the world we haven’t shared the changes in our hearts not even #1. And last, He said He came to FULFILL the law– meaning none of the above can be accomplished by your will alone.

You have to see your sin, admit that you fall short, that you confess with your mouth, heart that Jesus is Lord and was raised from the dead, and you will be saved. (Romans)

Works are not involved. It’s through Faith by Grace that God GIVES you so no one can boast. Grace, by the way, is getting what we do NOT deserve.

🙂

No. Just… no.

I cannot believe how low we have fallen. Aborting babies at birth. If all life is sacred… what the hell?

I am sad, angry,  and frustrated. I thought I had seen the worst in people, but clearly that was a fallacy.

The same day Virginia pitched this, the same woman (Tran) put the cankerworm on the endangered species list.

Over this.

OH GOD.

I would never condemn anyone who has gone through this. Or the men who couldn’t keep it in their pants. I can’t even condemn those who have pushed this. It’s spiritual warfare, and this is so very, very wrong.

Tears.

Christmas!

Featured

This Christmas has been exciting. Not that I haven’t loved each Christmas and celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ (no matter ‘when’ or ‘what time of year’ He was born, I celebrate now), but lights have gone up, a small tree, the Nativity scene, the songs of yore… stockings, and gifts.

Once upon a time, I was so down I purchased a Bonsai tree and put one ornament on it. That was it.

Then we travelled to relatives far away to celebrate both Thanksgiving and Christmas all at once. That was fun, but more fun than anything, since there were very few of us in the very large family gathering who contemplated or spoke of Christ and the reason why we are free.

But this year, it’s different. I don’t know why. This year, I’m going to collect any and every bell and at midnight on Christmas Eve, like the Catholic/Episcopal tradition, ring every one to fulfill at least in our house, that wonderful event where in the ‘olde’ days, those who believed that Christ’s birth caused every bell to ring on earth. Did they have bells? Not likely. We’ll raise some candles, and share with our family the tradition.

The kids play the modern songs of Santa, Happy holidays, White Christmas, Santa Baby. This year, that changes.

So what changed? I have no idea. But, there it is. And celebrate loudly I will.

So have a merry Christ Mass, whether you are Catholic or not, and I hope all my online friends will stop to contemplate why Christians celebrate this blessed hope, Jesus, the Messiah (Savior) who came in the flesh as a babe to grow and eventually to become the first and only perfect Lamb for the best Passover, ever.

Our freedom to come boldly before the throne of God.

‘MERRY CHRISTMAS!’ Get ready, for the days are short. And look up, for your redemption is near. Nearer than ever before.

‘Warrior’

Featured

Warrior

Once again, Linda Rodante hits it out of the park. ‘Warrior’ is her latest in Christian romance and suspense, but let me take a moment to pause.

dramatic pause prince.gif

Okay, pause complete.

Linda writes compelling stories that resonate in individuals, truly, no matter their background, the struggles of everyone, meeting God’s redemption. His grace. How individual characters fit into the story as part of the Grand Tapestry by the Master Weaver.

‘Warrior’ is a bit different, yes there is romance and suspense, but the story revolves around three people: Josh, an assistant pastor with a vision, Reese, Josh’s best friend and once bad boy, and Kati, a fervent believer hiding her own past and training hard for confidence–using the vehicle of kickboxing.

kickboxing woman

When the challenge is given, Josh prays. It’s time. ‘Go big or go home,’ is a tame version of how God wants to work in this story. He calls upon Josh and the congregation to be radical, dangerous, fearless. This is not a story about bad guys/good guys, this is a story about war. Spiritual warfare that doesn’t include the flying, flashing angels and demons. The kind of war you and I don’t want to talk about. Breaking chains.

Do Christians listen to a sermon, happy, maybe rushing to go home to ‘get on with their lives?’ Yes, we do, in fact we become so cushy comfortable that our lassitude is really apathy and what is more sad than our lukewarm, milk toast attitude? That comfort is not a win for us, it’s a win for the Enemy.

But for those who fight, it’s a glorious battle. But not everyone survives the skirmish, the battle for those who fight the good fight.

Linda wrote this book, coming out of her own comfort zone to uplift, encourage and inspire those who know of the battle that wages around us. Honestly this could be recommended reading for those interested in spiritual warfare (and required reading for seminaries).

Excellent read.
